It’s a great weekend for families with a huge parade, car show, arts and crafts fair, and the annual Leadville Burro Race. I reviewed a wonderful book called Running with Sherman by Christopher McDougall in my August 2023 blog which made reference to this burro race. Burro owners run with their tethered burros either 15- or 21-mile routes through the high mountains of Leadville. There are burro runs like this throughout the country. It was a blast to see...
